Never use the same needle twice. It doesn't matter that just you are using it after the needed leaves your body anything of a number of bacteria can grow on it. I could go into all of the things that could happen to you because of this (not usually death) but all the same its not pleasant and much easier to just change the needle.

i have been diabetic for 30 yrs, about ten yrs ago because i was sick of going through so many needles, creating unneccesary landfill needles, cost, and general laziness, I started reusing them. Now I use them 40 or 50 times before i dispose of them with no problem whatsoever. You seem to be talking about the lancet though that you use for bloodtesting, this device I use for much longer than 40 times, I have used the same lancet for two years, test 4-6 times per day. Think of it, it puntures the skin then you squeeze a little blood out, the lancet does not even come into contact with actual blood, unless you are lancing the vein in your arm which would probably be dangerous as hell, I would be more worried about your lack of typing skills that force you to type in capital letters and use two ii's than your chance of dying from reusing a lance or needle.

I change my lancet about every 2 weeks. I usually wash my hands before checking blood sugar. I have never gotten an infection on my fingers. I do check my blood sugar about 10 times a day. I can feel when the lancet is getting dull

You should always use a clean needle each time you stick yourself!! You may not get an infection right now but having diabetes does predispose you to infections and it will catch up to you. infections can and have killed diabetic pts.......worse they lose finger, toes arms and legs to this disease!! uSE a CLEAN NEEDLE!

What are discount pharmacy services?

Some stores have discount pharmacy services. For example, Kmart pharmacies have a 90 day generics program for $15, available anywhere in the country where there is a Kmart pharmacy. Costco, Sam’s Club, Giant Eagle, Meijer’s and BJ’s pharmacies often have competitive prices. Membership is not required to use the pharmacy services. Costco has a mail order pharmacy service, with no additional charges for standard shipping.



Are there patient assistance programs for generic medications?

Yes.

Xubex and RxOutreach both offer patient assistance programs for generic drugs. These programs differ from all other patient assistance programs in that they are not offered by the pharmaceutical manufacturer of the drug. They are programs that include several different generic drugs which are purchased by the company and then made available for a fee to low income individuals.
