Surgar it's self is not bad for you or anyone. If sugar's so bad for us then why does someone that;'s going into or having a Diabetic shock why do they recommend that you give them some juice, candy or sugar? Also if sugar alone caused Diabetes then 99.9% of the world's population would have Diabetes.

Fructose refined from corn or other sources is not the same as that which is unrefined and found in fruits and vegetables. Once the fructose is refined, it becomes very much like the sugar refined from sugarcane or beets.

"In other words, fructose syrup made from corn and ordinary fructose sugar found in fruit are not the same. They do not have the same nature. In technical science terms, fructose syrup is capable of disrupting leptin signals from fat cells, and also capable of altering the function of a protein receptor on the fat cell nucleus called PPAR-alpha. The naturally occurring fructose in fruit is not capable of these same effects. The ability to trigger changes in leptin signaling and PPAR-alpha function changes makes the sugar in fructose syrup more than just a sugar. According to this study, and precisely because of its unique effects, HFCS might be able to increase risk of obesity in a way that is unrelated to the calories it contains."

However, after all that ...

I would say that in all things moderation! Even water can become poisonous if you consume too much. So be wise, be moderate, and try to eat wholesome foods as much as you can.

I don't know but I have been hearing lately that any alternative sugar besides just plain sugar is bad for you. Who really know? Both regular sugar and alternative seem to have pro's and con's. Just eat as healthy as you are able to: obviously some fructose in a piece of fruit wont really hurt you just try to stay away from excessive sugars (like candy).

Fructose is a naturally occurring sugar in fruit. High Fructose Corn Syrup is what's bad for you.

Any fake sugar is bad also in my opinion. For those wanting sugar free alternatives, try stevia or blue agave nectar. Both are safe for diabetics.

Fructose is fruit based sugar. Too much of it is just as bad for you as the kind from the sugar bowl. Use Splenda. Tastes just like sugar, but no nasty side effects for a diabetic.

Fructose is all natural, which is better than the artificial stuff, maybe you're thinking of sucrose...

Some say neurotoxic, some say bad for liver.

If you gotta add sweetener to something, stevia is okay. Anything else is bad for you.
