She stated that I have window of opportunity to avoid diabetes by a radical diet and exercise change!
I'm ready to bite the bullet and go through what I gotta go through.

What exercises work best I'm 46 yrs old 6'3 and about 340 lbs and largely sedentary. Also just quit smoking about 2 months ago and everything taste great! I need a plan BIG TIME! Also experiencing some funny little sensations around my heart area...yesterday I felt like I was having a panic attack(overwhelmed with worry, fear, paranoia concerning my heart and health) I got up and went outside and it just vanished! Could this be Insulin related???

The best thing for you to do is walk, walk, walk. You won't be able to do much or go far at first. Try to aim for 12 minutes at first. You already know that you have to cut out the junk food. I know its hard to do at first. Try chewing some sugarfree gum. It helps me because I figure if I have gum in my mouth I'll be less likely to put anything else in it. And eat high fiber foods. Fiber One cereal is best for breakfast and fruit after that if your still hungry. You absolutely MUST pay attention to portion sizes. Ak your doctor if she can schedule you to have a meeting with a dietician. He/She can give you invaluable diet information. They help people in your situation every day.

go and find GOD at the gym. i found HIM while doing cardio intervals on the elliptic machine ( which goes easy on your knees ). get an mp3 and music that gets you pumped up ( mine are power ballads ). and donn´t get off the machine unless you have to go to the bathroom.

do 15 seconds as fast as you can , and them relax for a whole minute. increase you level of intensity till you get your heartbeat at about 85 % which should be like 150 beats per minute. once you take care of everything i mentioned, your ¨ funny little sensations¨ will go away.

gradually reduce anything that taste sweet or that turns into sugar in you body once you eat it. ( this part is the hardest ) . buy mags like men´s health or rx fitness for mem, they´ll give great tips on what i just described you.. make the gym your second home and you´ll be able to score a homerun in every part of your life, especially your family. the key word is as for any challenge especially fitness is being

Reggie G !

1. Severely limit your carb level, taking only from the low glycemic range.

2. Don't load your metabolism to the eye balls first thing in the morning, stick to protein and veg and nuts of the low carb kind.

3. Do not eat any carbs once you finish work, since your body will be much less efficient once it becomes less active.
