Depends on how much you eat versus how much you burn.

Metformin tends to reduce appetite and slow down the digestive process but whether or not you lose weight is still dependent on how much you eat versus how much you burn.

Agreed, metformin does not do this. It is common for Type 2 diabetics to have poor circulation, as well as some weird neurological symptoms. The weird neurological symptoms occur from either periods of uncontrolled blood sugar, or from bouts of diabetic ketoacidosis. Otherwise, honestly those do sound like symptoms of hypoglycemia. Are you certain you're not having some short term fluctuation?

Life style is often part of the issue. Life style changes now could delay or prevent you from getting diabetes later. Learn here https://tr.im/YYO5F

What you eat is not actually the cause of diabetes, but how you live can be. If you sit on the couch all day, your chances of developing diabetes goes up greatly.

Just do the best you can to not gain weight and to maintain an active life style and that will greatly help reduce some of your risks.

It depends on whether you have adjusted your food intake--both what you eat and how much you eat. Metformin helps your body to manage its glucose releases better and helps your body react to insulin better. If you're also not eating sugar and carbs (and fats) and getting your daily exercise, you shouldn't be gaining weight, at least not because of Met. If you haven't changed your eating habits and aren't getting enough exercise every single day, you probably will gain weight since your body isn't handling glucose very well--Metformin can only do so much.

on metformin you should NOT gain weight!! You may not lose any, especially as metformin is titrated to max dosage from minimal dosage and if you haven't lost weight yet, then you won't.

Your next step is to add another oral medication and/or add insulin(s) to your daily regime!! Insulin CAN cause weight gain!!
